What it does
Bullion API is a REST API for precious-metal prices. One request returns the spot price of gold, silver, platinum, palladium or copper in any of 151 currencies, per troy ounce, gram or kilogram. Prices are refreshed every hour into Bullion API’s own cache, so every response comes from the same source with the same shape.
Beyond the latest price, it serves a year of daily closes, the change over a day, week, month or year, and gold per gram for each karat from 24k to 6k. For gold it also calculates the gold/silver ratio, moving averages, volatility and drawdown, so an app does not have to work them out from raw prices.
It covers some of the data around the price too: central-bank gold holdings and reserve values by country, plus policy rates, inflation, bond yields, government debt, borrowing and debt interest for the US, UK and euro area. A portfolio endpoint records buys and sells and values the holdings in a reporting currency of your choice.
Plans are flat monthly prices with no overage fees, and every plan can call every endpoint. Free gives 30 requests a month for non-commercial use, Pro is $9 a month for 50,000 requests, and Business is $29 a month for 100,000 requests with commercial use included.
